This stand-alone office building, just east of Ace Hardware in Grand Rapids, is a HAWK Design/Build project. The owner had a very clear concept for his new building and teamed with HAWK’s in-house architect to work through schematics, design development, and final working drawings. At 3139 sf, the space has a welcoming, central open area with a perimeter of private offices.

Lakes Area Credit Union, designed by Lampert Architects in 2008, is located at the corner of 4th St and Pokegama in Grand Rapids. While offering the convenience of a walk-able downtown location, the property also provides drive-thru service and on-site parking- no small feat for this rather small site

Muah Salon and Spa is a 2,300 SF tenant build-out in Grand Rapids. As a displaced tenant, (due to the Itasca County Courthouse Expansion), Muah’s owner approached HAWK’s design-build team with a creative vision and an aggressive schedule. The owner researched several Grand Rapids area sites before landing on a typical “vanilla box” strip mall space. HAWK’s role was to bring to life, the owners vision for a 1940’s Hollywood “glam” style salon, complete with lots of “bling”, crystal chandeliers, floating fabric backdrops, a striking color black, grey, and pink color scheme, and faux “marble” floors.

Although the project was caught up in construction during the pandemic, the owners persevered, handled some of the construction themselves, and the project was completed on time and on budget.

Designed by DSGW architects, the Glorvigen office building is situated so clients and employees have exceptional views of the Mississippi River. At 2-stories high, with underground parking, it has become a landmark in downtown Grand Rapids.
